Double time formula
Double-time rate = hourly rate × 2. Eight hours at $20 is $160 of regular-rate pay if those hours were straight time, and $320 if they are paid at double time. This page adds your regular hours at 1× and the overtime hours at 2×.
Most weekly overtime is time and a half, not double time. Use double time only when the paycheck or the workplace rule says 2×. The overtime calculator can switch between 1.5×, 2×, and a custom rate.
